Heerhugowaard (population: 47,239 in 2004) is a town in the north-western Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The municipality covers an area of 39.97 kmē (of which 0.72 kmē water). The municipality of Heerhugowaard also includes the following towns, villages and townships: Broekhorn, De Noord, Draai, Frik, Kabel, 't Kruis, Veenhuizen, Verlaat.
